Welcome to the 2018/19 Series! Once again we are offering five entertaining concerts designed to stimulate your appetite for music as well as relax you for the weekend. As with every year, artists from the Kingston area and guests from farther away share their musical talent and passion in five concerts encompassing: piano, jazz, string and wind music.

October 12, 2018 – Real Jazz Standards! A concert of ‘off Broadway’ jazz standards featuring tunes by Dave Brubeck, Clifford Brown, Benny Golson and others played by Chris Alfano (clarinet), Paul Morrison (piano), Paul Clifford (bass), Richard Bannard (drums).
November 16, 2018 – Gems of the Romantic Repertoire – Revel in the music of Brahms and Saint-Saëns. Chris Alfano and Michel Szczesniak perform the Brahms Sonata Number 2 in Eb for clarinet and piano and Katie Legere and Michel Szczesniak perform the Saint-Saëns Sonata for bassoon and piano.
Back by popular demand we again break for winter so that those of you who escape the cold can still enjoy our series in the spring!
March 15, 2019 – Salute to the Big Bands – Welcome Taylor Donaldson, trombone (from Montreal) to the series with his ever popular octet playing all your favorite tunes from the Big Band Era in fresh exciting arrangements by Taylor, that we are sure you’ll enjoy.
April 12, 2019 – Triola Trio…’Elegance and exquisite performance personified in this unique combination of strings.– Gisèle Dalbec-Szczesniak, Melinda Collins and Eileen Beaudette have been a musical presence in Kingston for over four decades. Individual performing credits include CBC broadcasts as well as commercial recordings, solo and chamber concerts throughout Canada, the United States and Europe. Celebrating the spirit of friendship and years of music-making, they blend the sweet sounds of chamber music to create a magical performance. From toe-tapping fiddle tunes to sizzling tangos, popular classics to hot jazz, Triola delights in presenting eclectic programs for audiences of all ages.
May 10, 2019 – From Old Classics to New Age Katie and Chris are joined by Bill Egnatoff and Michel Szczesniak, for a concert of music for flute, clarinet, alto saxophone, bassoon and piano. Enjoy charming selections including Charles Koechlin’s Epitaph for Jean Harlow, for alto sax, flute and piano, and Alex Shapiro’s Evensong Suite for flute, clarinet, bassoon and piano
